Marked by the Rajasthan CM, the Pink City got its own subway on Wednesday. The 9.6 km route of the metro covering 9 stations from Mansarovar to Chandpole is a reprieve from the growing traffic in Jaipur. Here are some interesting facts you probably missed about the Jaipur Metro.

1 . The Jaipur Metro is India’s sixth metro rail system in Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai.

2. The subway has been advertised as one of the fastest built subways in the country take a record 4 and a half years for completion.

3. How great is that 25% of subway drivers are females! Out of 24 hired drivers, 6 are female making Jaipur Metro the best in terms of equality.
4. There will be 10 four-bus lines it is expected that 131 movements will take place daily between the two terminals.

5. For the convenience of passengers, e-rickshaws and vans will be available as feeder services at the 9 stations.
The phase I metro will extend to Badi Chaupar, while the phase II metro will start from Sitapura industrial area. This is just the beginning of a beautiful modern Jaipur.
