Cha Bar is a perfect place for both tea and book lovers. If that’s the perfect brew for you, then get ready to spend quite a few mornings here. Housed in the Oxford Bookstore , there’s a good chance you’ll bump into an author or two. The selection of teas at Cha Bar includes specialties such as the “100 flour ki chai”, inspired by what the truck drivers on Indian roads like to have a cup of tea.

Everest Bakery Cafe is a hit with foreigners and is located in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Paharganj. While the tea menu is common with Ginger Lemon Honey, Lemongrass, Jasmine and Darjeeling, the taste is really rich. By rich, I mean thin, fresh and well brewed. Lemon Cake and Masala Chai are also must haves.

While this one is not a tea bar in the truest sense, it is one of those secrets best kept by Delhi’s tea aficionados. What you get here is the most amazing variety of whole leaf and blended teas, guaranteed to be hand picked from the world famous tea gardens of Darjeeling and Assam. . Furthermore, the real secret lies in the whole variety of Ayurvedic teas.

There is no “variety” of teas here. But that fact doesn’t make it any less than any of its competitors. Here, tea is served the old, good way – milky, strong and as wonderful as an Indian cuptheechai has ever been. This one is near the old but still famous haveli of Mirza Ghalib.

Don’t miss a visit to this one if you are anywhere near Mandi House. Plus, if you’re also in love with good old Masala Chai. Many artistic students and students of NSD ensure Triveni’s ardent fans for the reasonable price. And then you fall in love with its Shammi Kebabs and cups and cups of Masala Chai that go with it. Variety is not the buzzword here.

Until then, happy travels (for a cup of tea this time).
